Mail for Exchange version 3.0 has been released.
The new version includes support for multiple folders, and HTML in Email view. Get it for your E71 or other S60v3 Feature Pack 1 device, from the Ovi Store. Please remember that MFE is a protocol for accessing corporate email and isn’t part of Nokia Messaging. Nokia has now rolled out the v31 firmware update for both the Nokia E52 and the E55. The E52 had received this update earlier this month, while the E55 has just been updated. Both updates include similar changes and are available over-the-air (OTA) if you dial *#0000# in the standby menu and go on to check for updates. The update can be installed without the fear of data loss as both devices support user data preservation (UDP), however a backup is always recommended.
The v31 updates brings bug fixes and optimizations to the device along with updates to pre-installed applications such as Web, Email, Music Store and Maps. It also updates the noise cancellation parameters so you can expect better audio quality while making calls. The ability to make Sykpe calls is not new to Symbian based devices with clients such as Nimbuzz and Fring being available for a long time, and Fring even offering video chats. But there is something about a native Skype client that makes you use it more.
Skype for Symbian today came out of beta and supports both S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1 (e.g. N95, E71) and Feature Pack 2 (e.g. E72, N96, N86) devices along with S60 5th Edition devices like the N97, N97 Mini, Nokia 5800. Since it is in beta, you can always give feedback and suggest improvements – which are taken very seriously by the Nokia teams. The Nokia E72 firmware update version 23.003 is out today. The E72 does have UDP (User Data Preservation), so while its always a good idea to backup all your data before the firmware update, none of your programs or data should be affected with the update.
Remember you can update using the E72’s OTA (Over-The-Air) feature, or if you prefer you can download Nokia’s Software Updater application to update your E72 on your windows PC. If there’s no new firmware detected for your device yet, it might be because it hasnt reached your region product code yet, or maybe your device is carrier branded.
